Short, specific instructions for using public Instagram links responsibly. These guides do not offer workarounds for private accounts or protected content.

How to download a public Instagram video

Use this process only for your own content or content the creator has clearly allowed you to save. Before using any downloader, make sure the post opens publicly in Instagram.

  1. Open the Reel or video post in Instagram and choose Share, then Copy link.
  2. Return to the AllVideoSave downloader and paste the complete URL into the field.
  3. Select Download. If a public media file is available, review the result and use the real player/download control to save it.

AllVideoSave does not convert, improve, or create a new copy of the video. File type and quality depend on the public media Instagram makes available.

How to copy an Instagram URL correctly

Instagram mobile app

Open the post, tap the Share icon, then tap Copy link. Do not copy text from a message preview—the full link is needed.

Instagram in a browser

Open the post page and copy the address from the browser’s address bar. Include the entire https://www.instagram.com/… address.

Before pasting

Check that the link belongs to instagram.com and points to a public Reel, video post, or legacy /tv/ post. A screenshot is not a downloadable URL.

Android and iPhone usage

Android

Copy the Instagram link, open the downloader in Chrome, paste it, and resolve the public video. Completed files normally appear in Chrome’s Downloads list; your phone may also show them in Files or Gallery.

iPhone and iPad

Copy the link, open the downloader in Safari, and resolve it. When Safari displays its download control, confirm the download. Find the file in the Files app under Downloads.

When the Instagram browser gets in the way

If paste or saving does not work inside Instagram’s in-app browser, use its menu to open this site in your normal browser. This is a browser limitation, not an access workaround.

Downloading on desktop

In a desktop browser, copy the URL from the Instagram post or the address bar, paste it into our Instagram Downloader page, and resolve it. Use the browser’s normal download prompt to choose where to save the file. If a video opens in a new tab, use the browser’s visible download control rather than any advertisement on the page.

Instagram download troubleshooting and common errors

The link is not accepted
Copy it again with Instagram’s Copy link option. Ensure it is a complete public Instagram URL, not text, an image, or a link to a profile.
The post is private or asks for login
AllVideoSave cannot retrieve it. We do not bypass private-account restrictions, authentication, DRM, or other access controls.
The video was deleted, restricted, or unavailable in my region
The public media is no longer accessible to the resolver. There is no safe site-side fix; check the original post and try again only if it becomes public and available.
The result did not load
Confirm your connection, try a current version of Chrome or Safari, and retry later once. Instagram or the resolver can occasionally be temporarily unavailable.
I need help with a specific error
Contact us with the error wording, your device/browser, and whether the public post opens for you. Do not send account passwords or private links.
